Brisbane Airport Corporation (BAC) is the operator of Brisbane Airport (BNE) and the surrounding precinct, with two major terminals servicing 26 airlines and flying to 67 destinations. The BAC facility covers 2,700 hectares, is the largest airport by land size in Australia and has the third largest in terms of passenger numbers, with 22 million passing through in FY 15/16. BAC continues to implement plans and infrastructure for growth, to fulfil their vision of being the best airport and preferred choice for passengers.
The CV Media & Signage team have worked closely with the Brisbane Airport Corporation for several years to provide progressive and quality visual solutions. As a key partner in their journey into digital, the team has been able to develop, customise and deliver a number of solutions focusing on the airport operations and improving customer experience.
With the development of their key car park – Airpark, BAC was looking to integrate outdoor digital signage solutions to provide enhanced customer service. This included informative and flexible content together with innovation through growing the capability of their car park beyond the base delivery of providing customers a place to leave their car. The team built a customised outdoor digital signage kiosk with a 46” LCD screen, displaying full HD images and designed to deal with changing weather environments. The content can be easily accessed, updated and changed all via an internet connected device providing BAC with the ability to manage pricing in accordance with precinct traffic and to offer a free parking alternative to divert congestion during peak travel periods.
The technology was able to assist in realising BAC’s vision of delivering full digital integration for the car park, assisting with parking management and overall delivery of customer service. The technology has achieved its goal of engaging the customer and ensuring the overall parking service is delivered with simply and efficiently.
The CV Media & Signage team developed a video wall with 47” LCD screens to be seamlessly integrated above the parking payment machines at the Brisbane Airport Precinct. The video wall enables BAC to deliver clear and engaging digital content that can be easily adapted and changed. Managed via a cloud based content management system, the airport team have the ability to change messages to reflect safety information, parking costs, parking specials, business advertisements and other precinct updates. The digital animation provides an extra element to the signage, ensuring it captures the audience’s attention and enhances the overall visual delivery of communications. Use of the LCD screens also reduces print costs and improves the dialogue between the airport and its customers, ensuring the customer experience is proactively managed from the outset of their journey.
CV Media & Signage developed a touch screen for BAC that has the capability to provide passengers with route and cost information in the taxi rank. The custom built solution operates through a cloud based content management system, ensuring all information remains up to date. Passengers simply select their destination and the screen will outline their travel route, journey time and associated costs. Positioned in the taxi line, the screen also assists with curbing waiting times and providing piece of mind for cost expectations. The installation utilises state of the art ultrabright IP55 rated technology on a 43” screen, built into a customised casing, provided by our manufacturing team. The solution was built for optimum function in an outdoor environment, and remains unaffected by the elements.
BAC offers a number of complimentary transfer bus services between the Terminals, the Skygate Centre, DFO and AIRPARK for the convenience of passengers. CV Media & Signage developed a custom built outdoor digital signage solution utilising an industry leading aluminium kiosk with a Samsung OH series IP67 ultra-bright screen. Operating through a cloud based content management system, customised software links with GPS data that tracks each of BAC’s buses. The customised software allows the digital bus stop signs to display real-time bus arrival times and timely informational messages. The digital bus stops are now in action at the international and domestic terminals.
