The Retail Food Group has been in operation for over 25 years and has developed nine diverse and successful food brands plus three wholesale coffee providers. As part of the Retail Food Group, Pizza Capers is a franchised pizza store with over 70 outlets within Australia. Pizza Capers has continued to evolve since its inception in 1996 bringing a fresh pizza product to the competitive market, continuing to challenge on taste and customer experience as opposed to the ongoing price based competition between its two main competitors.
The competition amongst the hospitality sector is growing more than ever with customer experience becoming a large driver behind changes to both the food offer, and the environment in which it is delivered. Pizza Capers aesthetic was well developed offering a simplistic yet stylish store design. With the growing integration of digital trends into quick service and dine in restaurants, the Pizza Caper team felt the need to implement more progressive technologies to ensure their customers received the best in store experience. They were looking to take their traditional menus and progress them to a more visually engaging digital platform.
CV Media & Signage were able to deliver a complete digital solution for the upgrade of the Pizza Capers menu boards, including the development of new art works and animation. Taking into consideration the different configurations of each store, the team delivered three trial stores, testing the functionality of the signs, the software platform and the artwork within the different spaces. The technology allows the digital menu boards to sync together and alternate through traditional menu content, animations and displays of new products and special offers. Through a cloud based content management system, the content is easily updated in real time and in accordance with the store to store requirements for their offers. The solution links three 43” screens to display all of the specially designed content.
Along with the delivery of the digital menu boards, the team has also provided the external signage for some of the franchises, from design, audit and fabrication through to installation and completion. The project required adherence to the brands design specifications whilst also requiring the flexibility to fit the different locations.
The installations at the three trial stores were very successful and injected new life into the existing environments. The franchisees along with Retail Food Group have been impressed with the team’s delivery on the software, digital technology, animation and art works. This has led to CV Media & Signage becoming the official supplier of digital screens for all existing Pizza Capers stores who wish to have them installed and at all new Pizza Capers stores as the digital menu boards become a compulsory part of new store layouts. In addition to the digital menu boards, the capacity to provide static signage has delivered to the Retail Food Group a trusted one stop solution for their signage needs.
