The Project
Our brief was bespoke: two sky signs, visible from both sides of the high-rise, with an added touch of freshness – RGB illumination controlled remotely via an app. This request was compounded by a unique challenge: the client envisioned a display of up to 16 colours simultaneously, necessitating intricate segmentation of the sign’s illumination.
CV Media & Signage’s team delved deep into R&D, hosting multiple in-house prototyping sessions. The result was an ingenious design incorporating “fins” within the signage structure, effectively segmenting the LED illumination and achieving the multicoloured vision.
The Challenges
The physical installation presented logistical and safety hurdles given that it was going to be occurring about 30 levels above the street. Harnessing the expertise of our skilled installers and integrating meticulous working-from-heights safety protocols, we employed a rope access methodology to deliver the install of the signs safely.
The challenges didn’t end there as the building was also heritage-listed. Navigating the permitting labyrinth, our project management team ensured heritage certification for our new installation, simultaneously addressing the removal of previous sky sign’s permits.
The Outcome
This project showcased CV Media & Signage’s adeptness at crafting tailor-made solutions, along with our steadfast dedication to safety, adherence to regulations, and forward-thinking approach. Through this successful collaboration, the Robert Walters sky sign has become a dominant presence in the Brisbane CBD skyline.
