South Bank Corporation is the development and management authority of Brisbane’s most iconic riverfront destination. The corporation is responsible for overseeing the business management and development of South Banks commercial assets including the underground carpark and retail tenancies. Visited by over ten million people annually South Bank is a multi-award-winning precinct that continues to innovate to ensure it remains a progressive public hub.
South Bank Corporation is responsible for the day to day management of the precinct and their marketing and promotion programs. The corporation continually looks for innovative ways to provide patrons with useful information around the precinct. Having seen the rise of digital communications, South Bank was keen to explore different platforms for providing information around the precinct. In their consideration there were several factors to be incorporated, including but not limited to, wayfinding, advertising messages and visitor information.
The CV Media & Signage team were engaged by South Bank Corporation to provide a progressive visual solution for their carpark. Moving away from purely static signage, the precinct was keen to integrate digital options that would work well in an outdoor environment. The Media & Signage team were able to design and deliver an innovative customised parking signage solution that integrates static and digital.
The digital pylon solution provided is built with an LED screen, LCD screen and static lettering across the top of the weather proof casing. Situated at the entry and exit of the car park, the pylons provide flexibility in message delivery opportunities.
Our team also delivered internal LED parking signage, providing digital wayfinding throughout the underground car park. The illuminated LED provides bright, visual signage that draws attention and delivers important wayfinding messages and payment information.
Managed via a cloud based content management system, the digital pylon and LED wayfinding parking signage can be easily updated in real time. The digital pylon can be utilised for marketing precinct events, retailers and promotions with ability to display animated, video and art work across the LCD screens. South Bank Corporation can also digitally manage the content in accordance with parking conditions and utilise them for traffic management during peak periods.
South Bank Corporation has been very happy with the digital integration into their parking facilities. The external parking signage provides a platform for visually engaging and informative content, whilst the internal LED’s have providing an effective wayfinding and traffic management platform.
